gumnam, if you must hold for at least 2 weeks then why not at least writing calls on your long positions? limits your upside but tampers your downside.

I think resource shares are in a bull market, thus speculation in them should be rewarding, its dangers limited, and any mistakes made in entry will be self-correcting.
