The day the CH's of the world are successful in convincing us that we have no inherent right to stand up and speak up for what we, at the core of our being, believe is right, or to complain about the injustice of a system that has the authority to violate our most personal and private conscience,

I don't now about the others, but for this CH, that day will never come, and isn't nearly here with Mojo. He is perfectly entitled to stand up and speak up for what he believes. I have never suggested otherwise. He also has the right to complain about a system he doesn't like. I have never suggested otherwise. If you suggest that I have, you lie.

All I have said, and you seem incapable of understanding this very simple, basic point, is that he does NOT get to make a deliberate, voluntary, unnecessary choice that puts him at odds with society's rules and then whine about the consequences of the choice he made.

Every one of us has to live under rules that may violate our private conscience. My private belief is that I am entitled to live in the lap of luxury at the expense of society, without working for anything, just lying back and reading and listening to music all day while the world supports me. I can believe that way. But I can't defraud investors, or steal from banks, or shoplift books, even if that's the only way I can live the way my beliefs tell me to live.

Mojo has lots and lots and lots of options in this society to live in ways completely in accord with his core beliefs. He just doesn't want to do it. He prefers to stand out int he rain and then whine that he's getting wet.

Duh.

The day the Jewels of the world are successful in convincing us that society has no right to make any rules that conflict with any indiviual's beliefs, that people who believe slavery is God's way should be entitled to keep slaves, who believe that they are told by angels to kill babies are allowed to do so, and that individual beliefs are allowed to prevail over any rules society may want to make is the day I will resign from the human race.

And yes, I recognize that I have misrepresented your position, which is fair because you have misrepresented my position to just the same level. So now can we quit once again with the personal attacks?

Basically, I blame myself for not learning from history and not realizing that you are incapable of discussing the Mojo scenario with anybody who doesn't bow down before you without resort to personal attack.

Karen, if I fall again, please slap my hand and stop me.
