Better cut into his recruitment pool p.d.q.

Which is what a lot of sensible people suggested from day one of post war Iraq, almost half a year ago (gad, time flies), but the administration is just now starting to stir with the $20 billion aid, and I am afraid will still be waiting for the free market to work its wonders while Sadr's brigades will be swelling and perhaps even joining the fedayeen and AQ on the attack. At this point I think it's a tossup whether Iraq stabilizes or not. I just hope that Rice has some good advisers to reverse the damage caused by Rumsfeld.
