Our country is premised on liberty. Liberty is curtailed for many good reasons, but if we are not sensitive to claims of freedom of conscience, how are we to take seriously less central liberty interests? In other words, it should be up to the state to demonstrate sufficient reason to abrogate freedom of conscience, not to the person to prove he "deserves" an exemption, except in the limited sense of showing the claim is sincere..........

"And if we allow Mojo's, what other claims might we encounter?"

Mary is recalling her tears from when she was in the third grade. She couldn't hold it any longer and there was quite a smelly mess as a result. ... the ridicule from her peers had lasted to adult hood. ... the pain persist still.

Miss Murphey, ten minutes before the bell: "Mary, if I let you pass before the bell rings, every child in this school is going to expect special bathroom privileges."
