Sure the constitution allows for change. It wouldn't be a legitimate constitution if it did not. But to do that takes a supermajority of the people to agree. When a judge does it unilaterally, that is not an action taken by the supermajority of the people now is it? There is a specified procedures that HAS to be followed to change the literal meanins in the constitution. Any other route defeats the purpose of the constitution and potentially renders the constitution impotent to tyrants and dictators.

Impeachment is for high crimes and misdemeanors but also for the less well known "not serving in good behavior". Good behavior could certainly have a political interpretation. I think what Ford said is absolutely correct, and its not about crimes either. Judges are sworn to protect and defend the constitution when they take office. When they don't do that, to me that is a crime and its certainly not good behavior. don't take chances, impeach them. Better somebody loses a job than risk the foundations, freedoms and rights we all try to enjoy.
