Seems like a whole lotta jumping through hoops unnecessarily.

See, this is one of the things that pisses me off about Ashcroft. California tried to legalize marijuana. The feds won't have any of it.

To me, that's not only nuts, it's a violation of federalism.

As allegedly conservative Republicans, I would assume that the Bush administration would believe in federalism, but no.

Then I read about what's going on with the Muslim interpreters and chaplains in Gitmo, and the damned Moussauoui trial, and I wonder if these birds have their priorities straight.

Maybe they're going after people like Tommy Chong because they need a few wins and he's easy.
