Nuts. I laid on an emergency room gurney having a serious heart attack and knowing it. It did not occur to me until later - after I was (fairly) safe in an ordinary hospital bed in the coronary intensive care unit after angioplasty - that the thought of God or pleading to God had not crossed my mind once.

There are atheists in foxholes. Religionists have deluded themselves about this forever. The fact that your life is in danger does not suddenly make God exist.

The person who is in for some serious trouble is Rush's housekeeper, who sold the story to the tabloid.

The prosecutor's focus is not going to be on Rush, but on the person or people who supplied him. I understand it was that twit of a housekeeper who thought she was being smart by selling the story to the tabloid for a few thousand.

The National Enquirer broke the story after an interview with Limbaugh's former housekeeper, Wilma Cline, who worked at his Palm Beach estate. She claims she supplied him with thousands of pills over a four-year period -- highly potent painkillers such as OxyContin and Hydrocodone.

"He spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and he ingested tens of thousands of pills," National Enquirer Editor In Chief David Perel said.

Officials say Limbaugh is not the primary focus of the investigation. Their main target is the dealers.
