Best I can tell, there are two different agitators. One is the stuff that causes the reflux acid which causes the erosions in the esophagus. The other is the stuff that irritates, on the way down, the erosions that have already been caused by acid on the way up.

I take Prilosec daily. It works great. The dip was way, way too much for it, though, the only thing I have ever eaten that totally blew away the Prilosec. So now for a while I will have to be careful of both the stuff that causes the erosions and the stuff that irritates the erosions. The latter group includes anything citrus. The only thing I leave on my sashimi plate is the pickled ginger, which I dearly love but can't eat, even in small quantities. I can handle the wasabi, though. Funny how that works.

I have not tried canned pineapple. There are too many other things available to eat.
