The main reason Israel is determined to prevent Arab acquisition of WMD is because such weapons would make Israeli nuclear blackmail much harder. A handful of Arab nukes could not credibly pose a first strike threat to Israel which has several hundred such weapons. But they could pose a credible second strike threat that would make Israeli nuclear blackmail (if they were ever to start losing a conventional conflict) much more difficult.
