If you take a different analogy like golf it's well known that playing ball properly can really improve your placement which makes a big difference on your next shot where it's advantageous to be on the fairway as opposed to in a water hazard. Good placement some analysts agree can easily take 4-5 strokes off your game. Who knows? I just want to live forever.
