We have an aggressive military posture, now and ever since WW2, in the Muslim world. They have nothing in our lands. I guess in your book weakness=virtue. Maybe we should have let the Germans keep the Middle East? would that have been better? Or are you just pining for a co-equal Ottoman Empire, like there was in the 17th century, so that the "virtue" could be more evenly spread around. If the Turks besieged Vienna again, I wonder which side you would root for?
