But would she be equally likely to fuss if certain government officials continued to use the term religious instead of spiritual? From you knowledge of her, of course, and realizing that you can't commit her to fuss about anything (except her family, of course).

Today I subbed for the classes I usually just accompany, which meant being there at the opening of the day. I was surprised that not only do the students stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance, they also say a pledge to the Texas flag, followed by a moment of silence. Which wasn't. But at least it wasn't prayer- which was good, since in Texas you can never be too sure what will happen.
The Texas pledge: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one and indivisible."

And yes, I oh-so-tastefully endorse the use of the term "spiritual".
