As a manager of these foreign teams, I know the reality is different than the promise made by Gartner and Accenture. Strange. I know a bunch of folks who claim to be able to manage foreign teams quite effectively. Consensus is emerging that it takes more work up front but less work overall. Measured dollar for dollar. If you're not getting these same results, there are a number of possible explanations, many of which include you as an active factor in the equation. Not everyone has what it takes to cope with the new software development paradigm.
