I LOVE Dick Francis. I mention how much I love him all the time. Sniff

You haven't been LISTENING. And come to think of it, I've relied on you listening. I think you've caused me harm. Lawsuit is in the mail.

(If you had been reading my posts you would remember that Francis was my late father's favorite mystery writer. Dad gave me my first Francis mystery when I was 13 or 14. It was the one where the guy is tied up in his car in the desert- do you remember that one?)

Another Francis fan, eh? He's one of the very few contemporary authors that I buy in hardback, not waiting for the paperbacks to come out, and not waiting for the library copy to get free.

High Stakes and To the Hilt are two of my favorites because of the backgrounds, which I found fascinating. Also, what was the one about the paintings in Australia? And the wine merchant? They're all up on the balcony, and I'm too lazy to go up and look up titles right now.

Note to the thread -- my new computer is scheduled to arrive this afternoon. I think I'll be staying on line with the laptop, but in case I don't show up for awhile, it's because I'm setting up the new system and am out of touch with the world.
