<<ESPN Classic showed game six of the '75 series before Saturday's pathetic game>>

I'll never forget that one...I was a senior in high school that year, and had sorta gotten away from watching baseball. My folks were watching the game, and I sat down to chat for a few minutes. By the 8th inning, it was clear it was no ordinary game, and I was riveted to the screen. It turned out (IMHO) to be the greatest World Series game ever. So many great plays, so many clutch hits. The mind still reels....(and I was a Cardinal fan at the time, not partisan to either team).

I still think the Sox have a chance. They need to sack up and stay focused. The circus atmosphere (like on Saturday) plays right into the Yankees hands....it's where good leadership, from the manager and/or team leaders in the clubhouse can pull you through.

I'm not a New Englander, so I don't totally "get" the Red Sox history. But I'm a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, so I know how frustrating the "big game" monkey on yer back can be.<NG>
