Sarmad, According to Briefing.com, ALTR earning's report is scheduled for release next Monday, 10/20, after the stock market closes. Also, earnings for TXN, another SOX stock will be released at that time.

13:07 ET WDC: Hoefer & Arnett is hearing reports of yield problems 14.40 -0.08: Hoefer & Arnett saying it has received several reports from industry sources that WDC is encountering some of the same problems that Maxtor and Seagate experienced on their 80 GB ramp. One source quotes WDC's 80 GB yields at 60%-70%, versus >85% yields reported elsewhere.

Maxtor estimates and price target raised to $18 at Hoefer & Arnett (15.14 +0.14)

Hoefer & Arnett reiterates Maxtor as a Strong Buy and raises its earnings estimates and one year price target to $18. Firm believes believe the expected economic growth in 2004 and the strong end to this year coupled with Maxtor's growing sales of enterprise drives, PVRs, and increased shipments to Dell should boost the firm's bottom line. The analyst notes that Maxtor is now well positioned in the enterprise space with a 15k product; believes the significance of the 15k opportunity is compelling given current forecasts suggesting it will exhibit the strongest growth of any enterprise segment over the next two years. For this year, the firm has the co earning $0.81 per diluted share, up from its previous $0.74 per diluted share. For FY04, the firm is estimating $1.00 per share, up from its previous $0.82 per share.
