Suicide bomber article: usatoday.com It's more like the kid being willing to die because of the extreme poverty in Palestine. I agree. It's not like the idea just suddenly comes up one day at dinner (provided there is dinner in the shack that day). It's easy to teach kids to hate. North Korea teaches children from the beginning that it is the empire-building Americans who are the source of all evil. Scapegoating has been around for about forever. Hitler was great at it. It becomes easier for the leader to scapegoat when times are hard - more blame to cast. Ironically, after WWI the international community tried to punish Germany - scapegoating an entire nation. The Germans resented it. Hitler spun this resentment toward the Jews to empower himself. This is why we rebuilt Germany and Japan after WWII, to prevent another scapegoating dictator from emerging.
