Hello Malcolm, <<Iraq ... Turkey ... victory ... endless>> ... is not assured for any side, because the fight is, by definition, endless until exhaustion, unless the fight is truly about Saddam, in which case it ends when he dies of any cause.

The situation is at best maintained, or the problem is smeared to encompass a bigger map, and then, one way or another, eventual exhaustion when folks forget what the fight is all about.

Chugs, Jay

Malcolm, The Great Powers (including Britain and the US) are already responsible for the present borders in that region. Is this a case of if at first you don't succeed Try Try again.. :o) That approach still leaves the Kurds and lesser known Assyrians in a jackpot.

Interesting list though .. How do you divide the northern oil between Syria, Turkey and Iran.. or does only Turkey get in on that ? That'll prove stable :o)

And why give the Saudis anything ? They can't handle what they have. You left out Kuwait BTW which is as pre-fab as Iraq.

The administration's goals are an endless source of misery for the many Agree.

Funny I had great hopes Bush would do a credible job, then came Iraq, I think Afghanistan was justified.
