re: the "Black Widows" of Chechnya: In the U.S., feminism took a big step forward, when women were needed to do "men's work", while the men were off fighting in WW1 and WW2. Rosie the Riveter. The vote for women happened as a direct result of the increase in women's status during WW1. Waging modern war no longer depends, as it did for millenia, on a soldier's ability to pick up a pack weighing half his body weight, and march all day. Testosterone gives you no advantage, if the job is pushing buttons or detonating an explosive vest. Suicide bombing may be the route to empowering Muslim women. Not the preferred route.
