It's documented and I refer to prior posts that the leaders take advantage of young children, teenagers, and people in their 20's Like Jessica Lynch, US soldier rescued in Iraq, who was 19 at the time she was invading Iraq? :-) Yes, unfortunately, it is mostly kids who get to take front seat in all battles. Young people tend to be more passionate, ready to fight, unburdened by familial ties and responsibilities. You can see the trend in US soldiers who recently invaded Iraq. A LOT of them are in their late teens.
