I've got to learn how to write like you. You made the point that I was trying to while using many fewer words and doing it effectively. ;-(

Chomolungma and Ian, that premise is non sequitur.
A society cannot just survive by just consuming or designing. Lest we forget, designers and engineers design to improve
manufacturing capability and innovate or improve
manufactured products. Our society is probably only about
5% designers and engineers, the rest derive their income
from manufacturing, supporting, or producing some product, whether it be agricultural, mechanical, chemical, electronic, etc.
Our economic base is rooted in manufacturing, all other
positions are are support functions to that end.
Just one man's opinion.....BB
