Al, questioning the motives and actions of your elected officials might be considered a moral duty. But never has that ever been a requirement of being a patriot, a.k.a. someone who loves and is devoted to his country. You could argue that the love might imply a duty to point out anything wrong with the country in hopes of correcting it. But like I said, that's not a requirement for love and devotion.

That's a not much of a cross to bear. You are off the mark.

Am I? Liberals like Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, and Alec Baldwin have to keep reminding us of their American citizenship, their "patriotism," and their "duty" to criticize the government. Seems like the pressure is getting to them. That's what I'd call a real cross to bear.
