Ford Motor (NYSE:<http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=f> - News <http://finance.yahoo.com/q/h?s=f>) reported a third-quarter net loss of $25 million, or a penny a share, vs. a loss of 18 cents a share in the year-earlier period. Excluding the effects of adopting a new accounting standard and a charge related job cuts in Europe, earnings from continuing operations were 15 cents a share, exceeding the average analyst estimate compiled by Thomson First Call of a loss of 11 cents, helped by a 71 percent increase in income at Ford Credit amid lower credit loss provisions, lower borrowing costs and favorable market valuations of derivative instruments. The automaker also raised its full-year earnings forecast to 95 cents to $1.05 a share from 70 cents. The stock closed Wednesday up 19 cents at $12.14.
