Probably still paying for that. Portland General Electric closed down the Trojan Nuclear plant (what an appropriate name) and stuck the ratepayers with that decommissioning.

Remember attending an IEEE meeting with PGE representative. I asked him if PGE would consider changing Trojan into a gas plant if the vote to close it down passed.

He stated that the vote probably would not pass and PGE had no plans to re-design it for natural gas.

The vote failed, PGE closed the plant voluntarily (if the vote had passsed, the shareholders would have to eat the decomm costs), and they have kicked around the idea of making it a gas plant.

So it goes...
