By "ostriches", do you mean those who ignore obvious threats, and isolationists? If so, that doesn't describe the Left Wing, at all.

The Green Party, in Europe and the U.S., is now the mainstay of the Left. Read their platforms and actions, and you'll see they favor engagement, integration, and intervention, as vigorous as the War Party. They just have different methods. And those methods do not include unilateral disarmament. They believe in self-defense. The difference being, the Greens use the dictionary meaning of that term, while the War Party defines "self-defense" to mean "any war we want to do, anywhere, anytime. Bring it on."

There are, in fact, more isolationist Ostriches on the Right Wing, like Buchanan.
