the dark-skinned son of immigrants from India."

Can you imagine the uproar if a Fox commentator said that about a Democrat? We have a real double standard on this issue. The right has to bend over backwards in order to avoid a "racist" charge, and the left gets a pass.

"the dark-skinned son of immigrants from India."

Nice. He must write from the same dank lair Gregg Easterbrook does. I wonder how many black revelers there are at the wine and brie soirées Cohen and his lily-white pals attend...

I agree with the author of the article. It's the LA Times and the NYT that are making skin color an issue. The whole skin color issue is Stupid with a capital "S."

I'm witnesssing the thick of the Louisiana governor's race, and I can tell you that Jindal's skin color is simply not an issue here in Louisiana. Period. Full stop. The Democrats, ironically, would love it to be, though.

If the racist, discriminatory, homophobic, sexist, love-challenged, war-mongering GOP has fielded him as a candidate for Governor, how can skin color possibly be an issue? vbg

Wanna see something really, really funny?

collegedems.com

This College Democrat president, a law student at LSU, fer cryin' out loud, allegedly didn't know that Jindal was of Indian ancestry. Said he was Arab-American.

Yeah, right. If you believe that saying that Bobby J. was Arab-American was not done with malice aforethought, playing to the electorate's subconscious fears, then I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

This stellar LSU law student was forced to issue an apology, though he misspelled "courteous."
