Neocon had no idea how you felt about Bambi's mother being shot by the bad hunters.

Neocon MUST be more sensitive about how he relates his ideas about the degree we kicked hell out of the Iraqi army. I am sure the Iraqi army felt great about holding us off for a whole 3-4 weeks. Sort of the same achievement that France managed in WWII against Germany. The French WERE humiliated!

But, NO nation's military can ever be humiliated by the big, bad US military because...well, we are so big and bad. Right?

No photographs for pro-American actions in Iraq? Well, for some strange reason they are hard to find. But, they are out there. The liberal, anti-war, press reports 100 negative stories/ photos to every one positive. Negative sells...just ask the LA Times.

Here is a site with positive actions in Iraq:

cpa-iraq.org

Worth a look.

The world is a better place because Saddam is no longer in power. There are stories relating the majority of Iraqis want the US to remain in their country for awhile longer.

We sent a relatively light force, and the Iraqi resistance collapsed within a few weeks. Practically no one was willing to die for Saddam Hussein. Indeed, some generals negotiated terms of surrender with clandestine agents before we even got there. You do not think this was a humiliation for the regime? Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion, I guess.

I see plenty of Iraqis lining up to join the new police and militia. I have seen Shi'ite clerics admit that the Americans came as liberators. I have seen children swarming around GIs, smiling and friendly, seeing if they can get a stick of gum, not hiding away in terror. I have seen people demonstrate against various American actions, not shooting at Americans, which is not the activity of people who are terrified of the occupiers. I have heard both criticism and praise of the occupation, in man on the street interviews, but even the critics acknowledge that they are better off without Hussein. These are some of the reasons that I trust the Gallup poll.

It is not a big surprise that there is residual resistance, and, given that it is the Middle East, that Iraq has become a magnate for terrorists. The extent of Ba'athist resistance was a small surprise.

I have seen no evidence that Ba'athist opposition continues to increase.

There is no evidence that the ranks of terrorists have swelled due to Iraq.

I guess we will have to wait and see how things go.

Israel is not a religious state, and the problem is not the treatment of Arab Israelis, but the original hostility of the Arab world towards Israel, and the refusal of the Arab powers to resettle the refugees of the war of independence, which they had created.........
