It will be "Steve Bartman, a name that will live in infamy," around Chicago for a while. Fortunately his picture has not been widely featured. There were Helicopters over his house yesterday morning, and press trucks outside. Major, major, mistake by the paper to publish his name. No excuse for it. "Romenesko" carried his explanation.

"It is the biggest news story in town and this is Chicago," says Sun-Times editor-in-chief Michael Cooke. "We talked about it for a little while and came down on the side of publishing it. It was not 100 to 0, but the decision was made and on we go."

As one of those bitter die hard White Sox fans (who will be purchasing a Florida Marlins hat today), I would be happy to offer him sanctuary on the South Side where he will be treated as the God he became that night. :)

Unless the cubs come back next year and make it to the series, that guy's life is ruined in Chicago.
