It appears those students come from the kinds of families from which you might expect children to continue in post secondary

The kids are well off then. They have most everything they want to get by. They see no reason to work hard when they could be out listening to Hip Hop and bad mouthing their parents. They will have to be kicked out of the house when they are in their 20s.

The purpose of life is to organize energy, and they are not interested.

I sort of agree and disagree. In other countries, class has to do with who your parents are. In the United States, class has to do with how much money you make. They are not necessarily the same thing.
