At this stage his model is the only thing with any credibility

The inflection point of his model on a long, long, longterm basis (multiyear) has been pretty darn good. I have no problem giving him credit for that. The details of the model and the advice that spills from those details are either mediocre or dangerous.

Some of us (and we know who we are) lost a ton of money by subscribing to Bob Brinker's Marketimer. It's a dangerous publication from first hand experience. You don't get anything of value from it that isn't on his free radio show.

Since his long, long, longterm inflection points are all that make any sense anymore (unless you're in Finance 101), I think he juices his newsletter because that's probably where he makes the most money.

That "juicing" creates massive turmoil and huge losses whether with middling or awful mutual fund advice or the occasional financial nuclear bomb. He's lousy at mutual fund and stock picking and a disaster at trading.

I can see the problem with his business plan but that's no excuse for making up crap and shoveling it on to his unsuspecting public.
