Mike, I share your foreboding about Intel's AMD64 response, whatever it may be, but I'm sure its not in Prescott, probably not even in the LGA version of Prescott, but in the Tejas version. Tejas has been postponed until 2005, so AMD can gain a lot before then.

And, if you are right and the Intel 64-bit extensions are actually "Win32 OS-supported extensions", kind of like SSE64, by 2005 this may be perceived by the market as too little, too late.

If AMD goes >50% 64-bit wafer starts in Q1 (as they said), even at 130nm this implies at least 1.5 million Athlon 64s in Q2. Hard to imagine any loss of momentum in Q2, if that is the case.
