If such is the case, well then I must apologize, and I am truly sorry. It's just I'm an ornery cus and if you piss me off, you're getting it back with both barrells. Nothing you have said is going to change my opinion of the medical profession in Los Angeles and in general, which I believe a significant number of, over treat, over prescribe, and over charge. In my case, this has been more often than not and I have become so cynical that I have and will continue to WALK OUT if the doc or staff tick me off. I have no respect for the amount of education they have, I have just as much and I f*ck sh*t up all the time. I have no respect for the risks they take to open a business, it's not my problem--I'm the customer and I'm right! And I don't think they walk on water just because some newspaper columnist says so! Some big differences between doctors and everybody else: If you take your car in and they bill you 500 bucks, it better be fixed or you get your money back or it gets fixed right for free. If you go to the doctor and he bills you 500 bucks, and you still don't feel good, you go back and he bills you another 500 bucks. If you take your car to a mechanic and he says "Uh, duh.. I don't know what's wrong with it...duh.." You go to another mechanic. If you go to the doctor and he says, "I don't know whats wrong with you", he bills you a 100 bucks, gives you some pills and says "come back in a couple of weeks with another 100 bucks and we'll see if that fixed it." If that doesn't work you repeat the process a couple of times before he says, "Well I'm going to send u to a specialist who will charge you $200 bucks. Oh and don't worry about your time, I'll write you a doctor's note for that." If you take your car to a mechanic and he says he'll have it fixed that day, you get to yell a lot when it's not ready, and if you yell loud enough, the mechanic eats part of the bill. If you go to the doctor and he gets tied up in surgery, has too many sick patients, or is stuck behind a slow foursome, you sit in the freaking office for 3 hours. ________________________________________ Not that these differences are all bad things! It just opens the system up for people to get a little too friendly with my time and money, and I think it sucks!
