Maybe they don't have Indians and Arabs in Valdosta, GA? But they sure do at LSU. People from ALL over the world there. I guess that's one reason I feel so comfortable around people from all over the world now - my mom was a student at LSU and that's the way I grew up. When I was in high school, I dated a guy from Argentina whose parents were Jewish refugees from Russia, and went out a couple of times with an Iranian. In college, my boyfriend had two roommates from Sri Lanka. That's typical for engineering types at LSU. Then they get jobs working in industry in the area.

Jindal's mom studied nuclear physics at LSU starting in 1971, the same year I was a freshman, so I probably passed her from time to time.

Hey, David Duke was a student at LSU then, too! Got his BA in history in 1974. I remember him speaking out at Free Speech Alley. We all thought he was a joke - which he is.

Bobby Jindal is a better representative of Louisiana than David Duke. People in Louisiana get along regardless of color these days.
