Actually that should read.
In Oct 2000 Brinker added 12 to 32% of an entire portfolio or 20% to 50% of what he had removed from the market in January to purchase QQQs when they were trading in the 80s.

The point being that this was after Sept 2000 when Brinker claimed he was bearish and using the term bearish to describe what he was in Jan 2000 which was a flip flop. Yet he was fully content to look at his model, and add to his position in the market a whole third of a portfolio in the QQQs. Along with what he had left in the market and touted like TEFQX, this brought many following his advice perfectly to around 70% fully invested, skewed heavily toward technology and foreign funds.

Now for a guy who claimed he had a model that was either bullish or bearish is this logical? He is the one who said he would get out or short a bear market when his model gave a negative signal. In 88-91, there was a time he was 100% cash. This time he rode the worst of the bear with up to 70% in the worst sectors of the market.

Do you honestly think Brinker has some very valuable model and is too stupid to use it? Wanna buy a bridge? :)

You made one error. You wrote:

Then in October 2000, Brinker added 12% to 33% of the money he had removed to purchase QQQs, adding to the tech component of a very screwed up portfolio recommendation.

It was not 12 to 33% of money removed but 20 to 50% as this suite101.com clearly states.

This is also very good: SteveT's Brinker Allocation History suite101.com
which is about the only public record I've seen of his actions between 1987 and 1991. If you listen to the radio you get the impression he was fully invested since 1982. I've heard him asked a direct question if his model has ever signaled a bear or had him out of the market and he answers a different question to avoid a truthful answer.

Otherwise, nice summary.

Are you on drugs? Your post is one huge paranoid fantasy that can only be brought on by a hallucinogen.
Get a life.

Tell us what you did, if anything, in January, 2000 and March, 2003. I'm sure your moves were brilliant.
