Edwin Black has uncovered some very bothersome facts lately. Sounds like he has put together in one book what I have been reading about in various sources for years. When you combine Darwin with the racist outlook in the 19th Century, the resulting horrors are understandable. Woodrow Wilson, et al, were very extreme racists. So were most of the Socialists of the period. If you combined the idea of the State being supreme with no God involved, it was an easy jump to bettering the Human Race. And getting rid of the "weaklings." Nietzsche's idea of the "Master Race" was well received by the English speaking world. Shaw used the concepts in his plays. That is why when you examine the Nazi History, you find so many PHD types all for his Eugenic's programs.
