Murrey,

Perhaps it's me & I'm grouchy because chronic pain can
alter one's mood & perspective. Perhaps I have a point.

My primary care physician seems to be the exception to the
rule. He has been able to diagnose things based upon his
face time with me, even before any tests have been
performed to confirm the problem. He also has mentioned
certain things that would help, like physical therapy
(where an expert can tailor a proper set of exercises, the
proper techniques & machines, the proper settings & the
proper number of repetitions, while closely monitoring
your progress & making sure you don't do more harm to
yourself), etc.

Sadly, my primary care physician can't do squat about it
as he is required to send me to a "specialist" to make the
diagnosis & recommend any treatments. The specialist
usually needs to see me more than once before they order
any kind of tests. That only delays any kind of diagnosis
being made while the patient has to continue living with
whatever malady they have, sans any real treatment
whatsoever. It's interesting to note that my insurance is
a co-pay system too.

And if you are familiar with the system you know that
means several months have passed already. Typically, these
specialists go to their recipe book & prescribe this drug
or that drug first. And time continues to pass. That
however, costs the insurance companies nothing, so who
cares? They aren't feeling any pain at all.

Perscribed physical therapy is almost like a swear word.
No doubt because it is expensive, not because it actually
works. Funny though, most of them ask if you are paying
for your own spa membership where you can do certain
exercises & get access to a pool. If you answer no, they
will recommend that you get one though - at your own
expense. Then they will gladly give you info on a number
of things you can do on your own that have shown to
improve the situation.

They really do want you to get better since continued
visits cost the insurance company $$; they just don't want
to pay for anything unless they absolutely have to.

One thing I have noticed with amazing frequency. Any time
something effects me negatively or something bad happens
to me at the hands of someone else; there always seems to
be a multitude of excuses for that person or the system
(often quite lame, irrelevant or illegal to boot) to
justify it. No one need be responsible anymore. Just make
excuses & blame someone or something else.

Yup, everyone always has an excuse to justify why they
can't or won't do what is right or required by law. Hell,
anymore laws don't even matter if one has a good enough
excuse. And we must protect those profits & the
shareholders too, now don't we?

I mean really, there's no way a white male in his mid-40's
can possibly have something harm them these days, right?
It certainly must be something he did to deserve it.
Besides, we gotta save our outrage for every other type of
person on the planet who's been oppressed by Tim all these
many decades.
