(Drop) Someone figured out that the Chinese I-nuts are lagging...g,ng

Grady obviously doesn't keep up with pitch counts....Martinez hardly EVER pitched beyond 105 pitches during regular season, and when he did, his ERA was almost 8! So I have no clue about his comment, "We've relied on Pedro to get us out of the jams (like this) all season"....I mean, big difference between getting out of a jam fresh vs. spent.

(Should he really be fired?) Would it really make a difference? Sad to say, unlikely. At least the Cubs have young arms..

OT >> Quite some drop here. Any news? <<

There was a Babe sighting in NY last night...LOL...

Only kidding, but no one should blame the "Manager" for the 8th inning blunder, let's face it "Torre" put Wells in the game in the 7th and he gave up what looked to be the back breaking homer...

The bottom line is, the Yankees didn't give up...

PS
I'm a Mets fan who wheres a bag over his head while watching the Yankees...LOL...

<<he can't possibly be so stupid that he can't learn from that boneheaded blunder>>

Mr. Shread, you are obviously not a Sox fan. The (non)move by Grady last night, while the most visible and damaging of his stupid decisions, is hardly out of character for him. In just this post season, there is the three strike-em-out / throw-em-out double plays in three days (so clearly he doesn't "learn"); there is leaving Burkett in against the A's in Game 4 as he was getting shelled (so again, clearly no capacity to "learn); and there was the absolutely mindboggling set of moves against the A's in Game 1 that started out as Trot Nixon batting against Ricardo Rincon (who was fading after 28 pitches) and ended up as Adrian Brown (who was on the team as a pinch runner and can't hit minor-league pitching) against Chad Bradford (one of the 5 best relievers in the AL) (proving that in addition to not being able to "learn" he is incapable of thinking 1-2 obvious steps ahead)

through it all, he has been completely unapologetic, simply saying "that's the way we've done it all year". that is the functional equivalent of Kevin Landis sticking by his tech stocks as they were cratering all around him, missing numbers, etc.

so no, Grady cannot learn. he frankly has no business managing a little league team, let alone one of the 3-4 most talented teams in the major leagues.

Cheers

Paul, no news that I can see except
that it's never "news" when the boys sell good news (Mich sentiment, housing numbers) as "investors appeared to be taking profits at the end of the first week of large-scale tech earnings reports."

cbs.marketwatch.com;

Also, options-ex shenanigans might not be over yet.

OT - one more Little rant, for therapeutic purposes.

When the Sleeping Manager left Pedro for Matsui, the Sox were done. Because even if Pedro retired Posada, he would have kept him for Giambi, I was convinced about that. What's more infuriating for me was that Pedro already retired Johnson. One less lefty to worry about. OK, Bernie singled, big deal, 5:3. Friggin wake up and get Pedro out. Embree gets Matsui, works around Posada, and gets Giambi. End of inning. But no, he wanted Pedro to be the hero, to be "the warrior". He did that against Oakland, but the difference was that the Sox DID NOT HAVE A BULLPEN THEN!!!!!

So the answer is, that Little is incapable of learning anything. Sticking with the same batting order in Game 6 was also a mistake, he was plain lucky that Nomar, Manny, and Heredia bailed him out.
