Part of what needs to be done IMO is implement a national strategy of sorts to develop new technologies.

We HAD one... but it was left for others as some let religion get in the way with stem cell research.

We have an aging world population. The next big strides will be in replacing hips, knees, major organs (skin is an organ) etc with new ones grown from stem cells. Larry Ellison is about at the "Botox limit" and would probably pay for a new coat of skin if it were available.

I think we are giving this technology away as we educate folks on how to do the research than only allow private schools like Stanford to do the actual research. China and Japan will probably take over the World with this "next new technology"

OK... is that politics or technology talk? :)
