DiB,

I've watched them do it first hand more than once. I had
my own limit orders (both buys & sells) in a number of
times & watched on streaming quotes, & two different real
time quote systems where my brokerage was a market maker
in the stock I was trading. I'd watch my limit order sat
unfilled while they traded above/below my limit price.
Sometimes tens of thousands of shares trades at prices
above/below my limit price.

I complained to them every time & all they did was make BS
excuses & often tried to claim I was lying. They would
refuse to give me a copy of the tape until I would let
them know they were required to by law. Then they would
claim the tape didn't support what I saw happen on their
own streaming quote system & their own Level II, plus
their own real time quote system. When I persisted, they
would claim "fast market" (which was a bold faced lie).

This BS continued to happen even after I threatened to go
to the SEC with my complaints.

It's about money. That's all one needs to know. And don't
worry. The fines will be less than .001% of the profits
they made cheating mom & pop. And no one will go to jail.

OOF

Hi DiB! I missed your post somehow on Friday and just saw it.

This is so bad. Through Brown & Co (aks; J P Morgan)they took me down on a buy one day .10 below the bid price. It took them almost 15 minutes to excute a market order one day. Took care of it after I complained. Did same thing the next day and would not do anything about it......NEXT day....changed brokers....They act like they think we are stupid and still in the dark ages. NOT!

Haven't had much of a problem since.

Thanks for posting.
