I agree, but I think it was foolish to put the emphasis on Arafat. Did you see the opinion polls that were posted on one of these threads yesterday?

They showed that a huge percentage of Palestinians feel the PA is crooked, something like > 70-80%, I forget. However, Arafat's popularity is the highest it's been, largely because of the threats.

IMO, if Sharon had ignored Arafat, his own people would have toppled him or his cronies would have otherwise taken care of him.. There are huge numbers at stake here as it is estimated that the ruling PA cabal has siphoned off over a billion dollars, largely from American aid.

If Sharon creates a martyr or gives him a podium in another country, the PR will backfire. We see on these boards how effective lies can be. It's truly amazing that you actually have people defending terrroists and their tactics.
