Mine too, he could have lost the rebel cap on a drunken spree but the missing diaries raises some doubt about the suicide. However, if it was suicide, it makes sense that something was bothering him so bad that he couldn't face it and didn't want others to know either. This would also be a reason for him to dispose of the diary records.

Actually I saw him last week. He must have faked his own death in 68' when he found out Johnny Yuma was Elvis' favorite show. I asked him what he was doing in Denver. He's calling him self Noal now. He was holding hands with a friend. He introduced me to his big fat grey haired partner in drag, who he introduced as Sivle, or something like that, Maybe it was Silvie. Anyway ... Said they were on their way to get their weekly massage. Course, he denied being Nick when I asked for his autograph.
