Isn't there an analysts meeting on November 6th. I wouldn't be surprised to see some activity around then.

Very, very similar to the current situation. Take a look at the daily stock price history here: finance.yahoo.com

Hardly any reaction at all to earnings which came out 10/6/99. In fact, the stock just drifted up slightly until Nov. 10, just after the analyst meeting, and then went up 40% in a few weeks.
