Even in that context, which I think is probably the most flattering interpretation I still think that such a comment shows the marks of a sadly bitter and disaffected mindset. If someone needs to feel that they are getting revenge against "all their enemies and injuries" or against "life in general for being born" and takes everything good that they get and instead of simply enjoying their blessings feels the need to twist them into a "ha, so there" type of vendetta and thus find themselves thinking of their "injuries" everytime they should be enjoying themselves I think it betrays a certain unhealthily skewed perspective to their thought processes.
