Disgusting.>> When they are in the hospital they are listed as TDY, temporary duty. When they are on active duty the $243 gets paid to the mess where the unit eats. When they are TDY, like at the hospital, the $243 is paid to them. Their meals are still paid by the armed forces, just a different channel.
