Maurice, the Islamic world isn't going to adopt the Chinese Confucian culture of Singapore, any more than they are going to adopt American culture. It's simply too foreign.

Whatever solution emerges, to the current weakness and poverty of most Muslim nations, it has to come from within themselves. Imposing it from outside, or proposing radical redesigns of their culture, will encounter massive resistance.

Malaysia's model, of peaceful development, affirmative action for the economically disadvantaged Malays, and robust nationalism, could be copied throughout the Islamic world. It is a much more successful economic model, than Iran or Egypt or Saudi Arabia.
