Yes, you are right to be afraid. In fact, more right than you realize. Despite the advertising, your country is no longer a democracy, in fact, the last thing the present government is concerned with is the needs of the American people. Indeed, the American workers and middle class are being ripped-off and exploited wherever they turn. Only the very wealthy are smiling --- and so they should. The government does whatever it can to make them happy.

In my opinion, it won't happen the way you expect. Unfortunately, I envisage social turmoil, insurrection and, ultimately, revolution with the overthrow of the government and a radical change in the political system. It seems an awful thing to say but what else can the American people do to restore their democratic power and their rights? Indeed, the right to run their country as they wish and for the benefit of all the American people --- and not just the "chosen few".
