No. The pre-war cost of containing Saddam was at least $19 billion a year, according to U.Chicago study. It cost less in dollars to take him out and rebuild than to contain him, even before adding in the risks of WMD's and terrorist connections.

The blathering left-wing idiots who scream about the money costs of rebuilding, and who argue that we should have contained him, conveniently ignore the costs of containment while complaining about the dollar costs of the war and rebuilding. Typical left-wing ekonomics.
