I've often stated that I do not know enough about Zionism to claim to be one or not to be one. I am learning. I know I support Israel's right to exist as do the vast majority of Americans. I don't like labels and try to avoid them. Even the use of the term "bigot" has come less and less from my keyboard. I am growing, trying to understand the frustration of those who pick targets based on religion and follow-up with illogical supporting "cut and paste" from dubious sources. In any event, if I get the intent of your post, it is that you feel that Saddam was unjustly branded as the new Hitler. Let's get it straight. There was one Hitler. I hope and pray (yes is that ok?) that there never again is another. That's why it's impossible to deny the horrors of the Nazis, the reasons why we should never forget them, and IMO the prime reason for the existence of the State of Israel. It's based on historical fact, facts that seem to be supported by your post. Was Saddam a horrid tyrant who murdered, raped, tortured and pillaged his own people, supported the suicide bombers and their families, gassed the Kurds and the Iranians and destabilized the entire mideast? Yes - but I agree that does not make him a Hitler. It may make him a pseudo Hitler or a quasi Hitler or a mini Hitler. I believe that Saddam admired Hitler and unlike Arnold S, not for his dynamic speaking ability. I also believe it was good that he was deposed. I have stated many times that I disagree with much of the way the Bush administration has handled the PR, (e.g. links to OBL and WMD).d A good intent and a wonderful success is being mishandled ab initio , but that's another topic. You really want to stick to the "hate Jews" area and I will try not to digress. As far as Sharon goes, I am no fan of his and have expressed this often. It's my belief that Israel would never elect him but for the cowardly terror that is faced by the populace on a daily basis. Labor ruled during most of Israel's history up until the first "jihad." Labor or a middle of the road party would likely win if and when peace is brought to the area. However, if you want me to say Sharon is a Saddam or a Hitler, then you need to consult with your arborist as you are off your tree. As for the final paragraph in your post, Islam seems to be picking the West as a target, whether that be Jews (e.g Malaysian PM) or the US or the West. I quite frankly don't know enough about Islam to judge if this is true or why they would do this. I know I've read some pretty convincing stuff that leads me to believe that, even assuming arguendo the State of Israel did not exist, there would continue to be "jihads" against Jews. Assuming that Jews could be eliminated (does that make yo smile?), "jihads" would continue against the US and the West. There seems to be a pervasive notion, common in many extremist religions, that unless you are one of "us," you are going to hell and don't deserve to live or have any "power" or rights at all. This is not just Islam but can be found in most fundamentalist extemes, including subsets of both Christianity and Judaism. I believe the Arab people can live in peace with the Jewish people in states side by side. The leaders are one problem. Bigots and those who appear to profit financially or emotionally by fostering hate are probably the biggest hindrance to peace.
