I have to agree at least with the Marlins win. You could see the weakness in the loss, bad relief pitching and/or closer. They will address the above in the off season!

no joy in mudville aint it the truth
The sad thing is the Marlins for example deserve their victory and you'd like to be happy for them, same with the yankees, these guys won fair and square. This is how the razorbacks felt when they won against NY in 01 I'm sure.

Well, I guess you could say both the yankees and marlins desrve to be in the WS, because they are both there. Bottom line is they each won 4 games before the other team could. However, I do feel the Cubbies outplayed the marlins, and overall have a better team, but you have to give the Marlins credit for winning 2 games away, against 2 of the best pitchers out there in Prior and Wood. But, I still believe the Cubs are better and did outplay the marlins for the bulk of the series. Sox and yanks were a bit more even. I actually am quite surprised the Sox had the 7th game in hand, going into the 8th with a nice lead and pedro on the mound. The Sox's offense did not really show up for the series, and I am really surprised they had it won with as poor as offensive showing as they had. I was rooting for a cubs/sox WS, but what can ya do....tip your hats to the guys that are there and know that in most sports, it is not always the best team that wins....If it always worked out that way, the Braves would have 10 world series rings by now, the yankees enough to fit on all fingers and toes...the giants would have a couple of rings and etc, etc....Anyway, I am an anybody but the yankees guy ( and I gew up in NY <ggg>), so now must root for the Marlins. I hope they can pull it off, but I have my doubts. The cubbies had some excellent pitching and I would have loved to see their pitching againts the Sox's big bats. But will now settle for the marlins small ball and hope they can duplicate their game 1 win, 3 more times.
