I only really learned about the Holocaust as a teenager. I found out that, just by the luck of my grandparents being able to come to America, I lived, and most of those that were left behind perished. Those that survived were basically chased into Palestine "Israel", where they had to fight or be destroyed. The Arabs waged five wars against the Jewish families of Israel. If Israel had lost only one of the five wars, I can't imagine what would have happened to the Jewish population. How can a Jew, like me, who has been sheltered all his life by this wonderful country, not support the dreams and hopes of other Jews, most of whom lost many members of their more immediate family. I get called some very ugly, vile names for professing my Zionism. That is nothing compared to having one's children blown up at a Pizza Parlor.
